The Alumni Meet 2025 of Vemana Institute of Technology was held on the 12th of July at the prestigious Koramangala Club, Bengaluru. The event commenced with a traditional invocation song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by dignitaries, symbolizing knowledge and unity. Dr. Shilpa G V, Chairperson of the VEMANA IT Alumni Association, welcomed the gathering and expressed her delight at the increasing engagement of the alumni community. This was followed by a presidential address by Dr. Vijaysimha Reddy, Principal, who emphasized the pivotal role of alumni in shaping the institution’s future and encouraged active involvement in upcoming initiatives. Prof. Somashekar, Director – Training and Placement, extended a special welcome and urged alumni to contribute towards mentoring students, offering internships and placements, and supporting research and entrepreneurship.
An interactive session followed, where alumni actively shared their willingness to support the institution in various meaningful ways. Key areas of commitment included mentoring students in entrepreneurship and start-up incubation, providing training in Embedded Systems and VLSI Design, conducting soft skills and interview preparation sessions, and guiding students in academic and real-time project work. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 250 alumni, and the organizing committee expressed optimism that this number will significantly increase in the coming years, reinforcing the strength and unity of the VIT alumni network.
The event also featured a photo session organized department-wise by the Alumni Coordinators, involving the Principal, HoDs, faculty, non-teaching staff, and alumni. A vibrant flash mob performed by current students added a festive touch to the occasion, with a few alumni joining the celebration. Dr. Shilpa G V formally introduced the Alumni Association and its office bearers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and heartfelt appreciation extended to the Management, Principal, Vice Principal, all HoDs, faculty, non-teaching staff, and the Alumni Association team for their support and contributions in making the Alumni Meet 2025 a grand success.
Alumni students arrived by 11 am at Seminar Hall. HoDs, faculty and instructors received them. Refreshment was provided on the arrival. Videos of college facilities, department activities and R & D facilities were played. Principal addressed the gathering. First of all, he thanked all the alumni who were present in the hall for taking the time to attend the meet. In his speech, he requested alumni to associate with the department and help their juniors in placement, internship and workshop. He highlighted the R & D facilities available and even informed the alumni to avail them if required. HoDs requested them to give motivational speech to their juniors.
The alumni interacted with faculty and shared their professional roles and experiences. Alumni filled feedback form by scanning the QR code. Few alumni shared their views about the department and college. They went around the department and cherished the memories of their college days. Alumni were delighted while taking photographs of themselves and their friends at different locations in the department and college. They were happy to meet some of their friends of other departments.
Alumni Meet was conducted on the 22nd of July 2023, at the VIT Auditorium, Bengaluru. The response was overwhelming and around 300 alumni were present. They were excited to meet up with both the staff and their friends. Alumni who passed out from the very first batch were present.
The Alumni meet inaugural ceremony started with an invocation song followed by the Lighting of Lamp.Dr.Shilpa G V, Assoc. Professor, Department of CSE welcomed the Alumni gathering.This was followed by an overview by our Principal, Dr. Vijayasimha Reddy B.G about the various Industry Interaction activities. He briefed on the Incubation activities and also insisted on the active involvement of the alumni in delivering technical talks and helping the students by offering placements and internships.
Vemana IT Alumni Association Office Bearer President Mr. Shivaprasad interacted with the alumni and insisted that the alumni should come forward to extend their support to the college in their strength by offering placements and internships. There was good response from the Alumni and many were willing to help.
Around 10 alumni from all departments, who had helped in placements were honoured with a momento. The office bearers of Vemana IT Alumni Association were also honoured.
The Alumni enjoyed the flash mob performance by the students of Vemana IT. The dance was followed by delicious Lunch served to Alumni, staff members and student volunteers.
Alumni meet of Vemana Institute of Technology was held on July 9, 2022 at Auditorium, VIT, Bengaluru.
The day was filled with twittering voices from all alumni recalling the memories of their good old memorable days. Alumni present were from passed out batch 2003 to 2021. Alumni meet was started with formal registration of the Alumni from 11.00 a.m. An overwhelming response from 350 alumni was seen.
Many Faculty and Non-teaching Staffs were also present and interacted with Alumni.
Alumni meet inaugural ceremony started with invocation song, Lighting of Lamp followed by welcoming of Principal and HoD's of various departments. The welcome speech for the occasion was given by the Principal Dr Vijayasimha Reddy B.G where he gave the overview of the college and encouraged the alumni to support the college by Guest Lectures, Workshops, Placements, internships and start-ups.
A Photo session was arranged by Alumni Coordinators for each department along with Principal, HoD, Faculty, Non-teaching and Alumni. Students of Vemana Institute of Technology presented flash mob (dance) and few alumni also enjoyed by joining. Alumni Chairman Prof. Shilpa G V gave introduction about Alumni Association and office bearers. Live music was performed by "Faith fire magic creation Band team" to the alumni where they enjoyed the music. The Band was followed by delicious Lunch served to Alumni, staff members and students volunteers.
