Dr. Kempe Gowda M
Associate Professor and HoD
Department of Basic sciences established in the year 1999. Presently the department functions with twenty teaching faculties; among them nine doctorates and six are pursuing their doctoral degrees. Faculties are teaching in different disciplines like Engineering Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Constitution of India, Professional Ethics and Human Rights and Technical English to first and second year level. Basic Science Department has three VTU recognized research centers with 4 research scholars in Mathematics and Chemistry. All faculties are actively involved in research activities in the field of Fluid Dynamics, Differential Geometry, Polymers, Nanomaterial, Heterogeneous catalysis and Work Ethics. Department has proved its achievements in the area of research by publishing papers in National and International journals of high impact factor. The faculties have attended International and National seminars, workshops and symposium to upgrade latest developments in science and technology. Also department encourages students’ seminars and projects along with co-curricular activities like quiz, debate, essay writing, science exhibition and guest lecturers to enhance their knowledge and build confidence among them.
